About Tracey Emin
Tracey Emin is a British contemporary artist, born in 1963 in London, and a leading figure of the Young British Artists (YBAs) who rose to prominence in the early 1990s. She is internationally recognized for a multidisciplinary practice that includes printmaking, painting, drawing, embroidery, neon works, installations, film, and sculpture. Her artworks transform deeply personal experiences into emotionally charged works that resonate with a global audience.
Emin’s art is defined by radical honesty and emotional intensity. Her work explores themes such as love, sexuality, vulnerability, trauma, freedom, and mortality, often expressed through direct language and expressive visual forms. This confessional approach has made her one of the most influential contemporary artists, with artworks and art editions highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
One of her most iconic artworks is My Bed, first exhibited in 1998 and shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 1999. The installation presents an unmade bed surrounded by personal objects, confronting viewers with intimacy and self-exposure, and remains a landmark work in contemporary art history.
Alongside her installations, Tracey Emin is widely known for her paintings and limited edition prints. Her paintings feature expressive brushwork, handwritten text, and vivid color palettes, while her signed limited edition prints translate these themes into collectible art editions. These signed artworks allow collectors to engage with Emin’s artistic language in accessible formats without losing emotional depth.
