Louise Bourgeois - Je t'aime

Originally conceived in 2005 and produced in 2023 as a limited edition, Louise Bourgeois’s Je t’aime transforms the everyday object of a plate into a collectible artwork. Featuring an explosive, radiating blue motif, the design embodies Bourgeois’s emotional intensity and recurring exploration of intimacy, love, and memory.

The circular form of the plate is both functional and symbolic, echoing the artist’s fascination with cycles, continuity, and the body. While accessible in scale, the edition captures the same psychological depth found in Bourgeois’s works on paper and sculpture.

Louise Bourgeois (1911-2010) was a French-American artist whose extensive career spanned over seven decades, leaving an indelible mark on modern and contemporary art. Best known for her large-scale sculpture and installation work, Bourgeois also excelled in painting, drawing, and printmaking, exploring themes of family, sexuality, death, and the subconscious. Her work is profoundly autobiographical, delving into her own experiences to confront fear, anxiety, and the complexities of the human condition.
