Anselm Reyle – Untitled (Suite of 4 Works)

Anselm Reyle’s Untitled (2024) is a suite of four archival pigment prints on paper with foil collage and hand-applied acrylic paint, each measuring 70 × 60 cm. Combining high-gloss reflective surfaces with neon color fields and expressive paint splashes, the artworks extend Reyle’s investigation into the aesthetics of abstraction and the language of display.

Layered compositions juxtapose industrial foil elements with digitally printed imagery and spontaneous drips of vivid pink, blue, and orange. The interplay between mechanical reproduction and manual intervention creates a tension between polish and gesture, surface and depth. Reyle’s characteristic use of metallic sheen and saturated color references both postwar abstraction and contemporary consumer culture, collapsing distinctions between “high” art and decorative excess.

Executed in 2024 in an edition of 40 plus 5 artist’s proofs, each artwork in the suite is uniquely finished, hand-signed, and numbered by the artist, underscoring the hybrid nature of the series between print, collage, and painting.
