As our mission is to offer outstanding artworks by world famous artists at affordable prices, our main focus lies on limited editions and multiples. Implied by the term itself, multiples are artworks that were produced in a fixed quantity greater than one.
Not being regarded as mere reproductions but as standalone artworks, artists have been using multiples to enable everyone to own an original artwork. When the artist Daniel Spoerri came up with the word “multiple” as early as in 1959, he was driven by the idea that a work of art could be democratic. Andy Warhol later championed the idea of multiplying art by reproducing Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa in his famous artwork “ThirtyAreBetterThanOne”.
MLTPL was founded by Leon Dammann. He worked in the international art trade in London and Berlin for many years, specializing in contemporary and modern art. Leon studied at the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London, at Lancaster University and ICADE Madrid.
